Buy a Unique Artificial Tree for Christmas

With the festive season only literally a few weeks away and thoughts turning to the buying and wrapping of Christmas presents, the task of decorating the home for the holiday is also looming.

You sure want to be prepared in plenty of time so as to avoid disappointment when things start to sell out as we get closer to the time. So if you haven't done so already, now is a good time to start planning what kind of tree you want to have this year.

Will it be Traditional of Unusual?

When it comes to choosing the tree for your home this year, you get to choose what you want to have. You can go for the traditional look if that's what you like and do what most other folks do and get a run of the mill, regular and, let's face it, boring old tree.

Or you can break with tradition and opt for something a little more exciting. You can get some really interesting unique artificial Christmas trees these days and they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors to really set off your home with a totally different look.

What Choices Do You Have?

You can choose from upside down trees, those that come in odd shapes like for example spirals or crosses or inventive topiary designs and trees that resemble anything but trees. Plus they come in a wide variety of colorful shades to really set them apart from the rest.

If you like strong reds, pinks or purples, it's no problem. If you like a pure white tree then you can get that too, or if you like a really unusual tree in black, there is that option as well.

Why Go For a Unique Look?

We're all different in what we like and dislike, so really the choice you make will have to fit in with what you personally like. If that happens to be getting off the beaten track and going for something that your neighbors are probably not going to have, then I say go for it!

You can raise a few eyebrows and make yourself the talking point of the neighborhood if you want to. After all, you are an individual so dare to be unique!

It's all up to your own imagination how unique your tree will be, so do some shopping around to see what is on offer in the stores this year.

Why a White Christmas Tree is So Desirable

When the festive time of the year creeps up on us, people go rushing out to order their special tree to put the finishing touches on their home's Christmas decorations. Most people will opt for either a real tree or a realistic looking artificial one, of which there is a huge selection of quality trees that really are very real looking, even fairly close up.

However, some people like to be different and their needs are amply catered for with a huge variety of unusual shaped and colored trees. With there being so many different types of tree that you could go for, it can sometimes seem like a real burn out just trying to decide on a definite style.

One idea is to ditch the traditional tree and go for a more unusual white tree.

Why White?

I think a lot of the appeal of a white tree is in its virginal appearance to mimic the snow covered tress in the wild northern forests during winter. They have an innocent beauty that can take your breath away!

Bringing that "feel" into your living room with a pure, snowy colored tree can give the room's appearance a certain uniqueness that is refreshing and desirable. You can get white artificial Christmas trees that really do emulate a snow covered fir tree and these are highly sought after.

That's because of their uncanny realism and also because they are sufficiently different from the run of the mill green colored tree to make people take notice. On the other hand, they are not so off the wall as to make people want to comment on how crazy their owner must be!

Dare to Differ

Another reason they appeal to people is the simple fact that they do differ from the norm and that can be a big part of that very appeal. Not everyone likes to stay within the limits of normality, nor do they want to do what everyone else does.

If you are happy to break with tradition and embrace a more unusual decorative setup, then choosing a pure white tree to form the centerpiece of your Yuletide embellishings can be quite liberating! Be different and don't care what anyone else thinks, because you need to please yourself first.

A white tree at Christmas is a great idea and really sets off the decorations to their best effect. This is why they are so highly sought after and much loved by those that really do dare to be a little different from the crowd!

Finding an Unusual or Interesting Christmas Tree Online

If you're looking for some great Christmas trees online this year, then there are some really great ideas that you can take advantage of. It's well worth spending some time to check out all the online stores to see what they have in terms of discounts, delivery packages and special offers.

That's because at the festive time of the year, the stores will all be trying to attract your attention to make some sales. That means the buyer is really in the driving seat to see who comes up with the most tempting attractions.

Bargain Hunting

There's plenty of scope for finding a bargain or that unusual tree that nobody else is stocking. So if you see something that looks really good, that has the right price tag and really rings your bell, go ahead and grab it while you can!

You will be so glad that you did and you never know, it could turn out to be the catch of the year! There are many designs and styles to choose from, too. Let's take a look at some of the options that are available.

What Do You Want to Have?

The list is getting longer and longer each year as manufacturers add ever more lines to their collections and stores set aside ever more space to promote them. If you have a pretty good idea of what you want, then go window shopping, you're sure to find a pretty close match.

There are standard spruce type trees that look very realistic in a variety of sizes and shapes. If you like the idea of going a little arty, you can get different colored ones like reds, dark blues, pinks, whites, purples and even black if that's what you like!

There are pre-lit, part-lit and unlit trees, slim and pencil trees, very tall ones and very short ones too. It just takes some imagination and a little time looking through all the online catalogs to find the more interesting ones and you will be pleasantly surprised at the variety you will see there.

Traditional or Unique?

The choices are getting so broad that it's getting tougher to choose. One way to narrow the dilemma down some is to make a firm decision as to whether you want to opt for a traditional looking tree, or go for something more unusual and even unique in style and design.

We all know what traditional trees look like, but what of the unusual ones? There are upside down trees, half or quarter shapes for corners or nooks in your room, or trees that don't even look like trees! You choose what you want.

So what would you expect to find in a Christmas tree store online? Trees, of course! Loads of them too and that's exactly what they have, so its well worth checking that out to see what you can get your hands on this festive season.

Realistic Christmas Wreaths

One thing that can often be overlooked until the last moment when it is usually too late is the all important wreath that you hang on your front door. Of course, it gets overlooked because of where it goes, which is outside the door where no one who is inside is going to see it.

You only notice its not there when you are coming in from outside and if your mind is on other things, it is easy to miss that its not there! So this article takes a short time out from looking at trees to take a look at another important decorative item that you will need this Christmas.

Real or Artificial?

One of the real problems with buying a real or live wreath each year is that it only lasts for a few weeks and then it has to be discarded. Not only that, but if you really do forget to buy one, once the stores close that's it, you missed out!

But it's not all bad news when you look at the options that are staring you in the face. There is a really great alternative in getting a wreath that will last from year to year.

Sure, it won't be real or live, but there are several benefits of artificial Christmas wreaths that make this a very viable option.

Benefits of Artificial Wreaths

So everyone loves to look at a list of good things, especially when it's about an important aspect of a much loved time of the year. Let's take a look at some of them here:
  • Long life: you can reuse one of these year after year
  • Saves time: Yep, you save time by not having to go to the stores every year to buy a real one when you own a realist one
  • Saves Money: In the long run you will save by buying just one good quality wreath instead of one cheaper real one every year
  • Saves work: You don't have to clean up dropped needles every day with a realistic wreath
  • Realism: The quality of artificial decorations has evolved in leaps and bounds to create a level of realism that can fool most folks even pretty close up

As you can see, there are some pretty compelling reasons to go for a realistic kind instead of a real one. That's not to say you should, just that the option is there for ou if you decide to opt for it.

So Many Reasons to Own One

Of course you have the great longevity of this kind of decoration meaning you can use it year after year. The great thing is that it will always look great as long as it's looked after and stored properly when it's not being used.

Add to that the fact that you only have to buy it once and you will have it there every year so. So even if you forget to put it up and Christmas eve comes around and one of your neighbors tells you that you forgot your wreath, you can simply run upstairs and get it out of storage. Then just put it up without the mad panic to get to the stores before they close!

Not only that, but there is such as huge range of great artificial wreath designs and sizes that you will easily fond one that suits your taste and budget. The best part is they can be ordered online and delivered to your home so that you don't even need to go to the store to get one!

So now you can see why I personally prefer to go the artificial route with my festive decorations each year. Call me lazy, but I can think of plenty of better things to do with my time that spend them fighting my way around the stores at the busiest time of the year!

Where To Put a Slim Tree for Christmas

You better believe it that Christmas is coming up faster than you can shout, "Did you buy the tree yet?" Well, that's probably something you really need to think about, like now, if you want to get a really great tree for your home this year.

The stores do tend to sell out of the best ones first, so if you have your eye on a really snazzy tree that is sure to turn heads, you need to get your order in fast. So this post is actually about those slim trees that you see more and more often in the stores.

Growing Popularity for Slimmer Trees

They're not as widespread as the regular trees, but they are growing in popularity especially for folks who live in small apartments or homes with pretty small rooms. A regular 7 foot tree can take up a big piece of a small room and leave you with little room for much else, let alone the presents and the turkey!

So if your room is not as big as you'd like and you are wondering how on earth your going to put a huge tree in there, you don't have to worry. You can get some really great slim artificial Christmas trees in the stores as well as online.

Online Stores that Sell Slim Realistic Trees

In fact online stores are where you are likely to get the best discounts as well as delivery to your door from just about anywhere. Check the link in the right column for some really cool slim trees that are right in fashion this year.

The choice is actually pretty impressive this year, since more stores are selling their trees online. At the same time, the established Internet stores like Amazon are increasing their ranges to include all kinds of great trees.

There Are Advantages to Going Slim

Just think of all the advantages of owning a slim artificial tree for Christmas this year. For one, you'll have more free space in your room for other things, like you know, people, chairs etc!

Another great thing is that s slim tree is real easy to decorate because you don't need to have such long arms to wrap the tinsel strands around it! Getting lights on there is also a lot easier, unless of course you opt for one of the pre-lit slim artificial Christmas trees that are in vogue now.

So do yourself a big favor and check out the slim offerings from the online Christmas tree stores and see if you can grab yourself a real bargain.

Getting Prepared Early for the Season of Goodwill

It may only be August and the summer heat is keeping is feeling hot and thoughts of the chilly winter season may be far from our minds right now. But Christmas is not so far away that we shouldn't spare it a thought every so often. In fact, now is actually a good time to start getting prepared.

It may have been because I was sitting in my chair just gazing into space the other day and it dawned upon me that the season of goodwill, better known as Christmas was really not so far away as it seems right now. If teh truth be told, it seems like only last week that I only put the old tree in the trash and vowed to get a new one for the following holiday.

It's Never Too Soon

Well that holiday is just under five months away and even though that's a pretty long time, I will still have to make good on that promise at some point ! So I started looking around online to see what might make a good replacement for the old tree I threw out.

I only have a small apartment so I can't have a huge tree taking up all the space. I found a really great looking slim artificial tree at one website that looked like it was the perfect tree for me! Not too tall and nice and slim, so it won't be taking up any space in my living room!

As I was shopping really early, the prices are the same as they were last year and availability was not an issue. So that means I'm getting a pretty good bargain for this year's celebrations all for choosing to get my order in really early.

The Early Bird Catches the Best Bargain

This just goes to show that being early never did anyone any harm and in fact can be a really good strategy if you like to grab a bargain that you can bet will not be there if you're shopping at the last minute. Of course that all depends on how your personal situation is.

You may or may not have the finances to go in with an early order at this time of the year, especially if you just took (or are about to take) a vacation that might have stretched the family budget some. But if you do have the spare cash, what better way to invest it than in grabbing an early Christmas tree at a great price and then having the cash available later on to spend on something else.

I love it when a plan comes together and results in a happy ending, don't you?

Why I Like a Realistic Christmas Tree in My Home

Have you ever noticed that owners of realistic looking Christmas trees tend to be just that little less stressed over the festive season? Maybe it occurred to you that they weren't quite so stressed because they didn't have to go hunting for a real tree and drive all over town in quite probably bad weather to get it, bring it home and then set it all up?

This article takes a look at why I personally believe that a real tree, while great to have don't get me wrong, is more hassle than its worth these days, especially now that the artificial alternatives look so, well, realistic!

Personal Preference

Okay, I'll be honest with you, I prefer an artificial tree to a real one at Christmas. It's no big deal, but there are just some convenience factors that win them over for me. So I'm going to tell you about all the benefits of artificial Christmas trees, why I like them and why I prefer them over the real thing.

I bought a new artificial tree last Christmas and it was beautiful. It stands 6.5 feet and that is the perfect height for my living room. Not too big and not too small. Just right. Its one of those realistic trees that really does look like a Douglas fir and it is pre-lit, so all the lights are already there meaning I don't have to mess around putting up tree lights which, let's face it are a royal pain to do, especially if the wires get all tangled up, like they're prone to do.

Less Interest to Cats

It stood proud in my room amongst the other decorations and set things off perfectly. The cat wasn't interested in trying to climb it and neither did it feel the need to pee all over the base. Like it did the year before and the year before that with the real trees I kept buying. When the holidays were over, I packed it away in the box it came in all neat and tidy and stored it away in the attic. Took all of 10 minutes to do that.

Real trees need to be bought from a seller across town, transported home and then at the end of their short life, disposed of by transporting them to the dump. Whole. With needles dropping in the car. Which took over an hour to vacuum out. Every year. Not anymore!

So this year, my artificial tree will come out and take about 10 minutes to put up and it will look as great as it did last year. No going to buy another one and no visit to the dump a few weeks later. No more costs. No more hassle.

I totally love artificial, realistic looking Christmas trees and will probably never get another real one ever again. Which my cat may hate... but who cares what she thinks?

Reasons to Buy an Artificial Christmas Tree

There are plenty of great reasons why buying an artificial tree is a very good idea this Christmas, so let's take a look at some of them. Naturally, not everyone will see it this way and there are plenty of folks that prefer the more traditional "live" tree to adorn their homes.

But if you are on the fence or are considering switching allegiances and just need some good reasons why you should do that, then these might go some ways to helping you make your decision.

Reasons to Own an Artificial Tree

Yes, its always "decisions, decisions..." but at least when you put your mind to it, you can get some pretty good ideas of where you're heading with this. So here is a list of great reasons why owning one of these great trees is a good choice this year:
  • Cost: the long term cost is much less than getting a new tree every year
  • Purchase: you can buy these threes online and they deliver to your door, whereas a real tree needs you to go out in your car and physically bring it home yourself
  • Space: you can get smaller or narrower trees to fit even the smallest rooms pr apartments
  • Convenience: these trees are so versatile and convenient to put up and pack away again for next year
  • Cleanup: there are no messy needles to have to clean up after the tree is no longer needed
  • Longevity: when they are treated well, an artificial tree will last for many years and still look great
  • Disposal: you don't have the hassle of disposing of the tree after the festive season has come to an end
So you probably see what I think about artificial Christmas trees and why I love them so much! You may not be set on the idea right away, but after you have owned one for a single season and then are getting prepared for the next, you realize that there are zero hassles about getting a tree.

Of course, you won't know that until after you bought one and used it for a season to get the feel of how it looks, feels and fits in with the decor of your home, depending on where you placed it. A year on, you will have a first hand take on these trees, because you already had one stored away that you can easily get out and put up and decorate without leaving your home or worrying that the local suppliers might run out!

Why You Need a Slim Artificial Tree This Christmas

If you're one of those people who live in a small home, apartment or condo and space is at a premium, then a slim Christmas tree can provide you with all the decorative beauty, height and display impact of a wider tree but with a smaller footprint. After all, making the best use of your available space can be a major consideration at the festive time of the year, when stacks of gifts, food and other decorations are vying for the available square footage in your room.

Welcome to this festive site that focuses on the slim variety of Christmas tree made especially for people who love to see the main focus of the room being a tall, great looking tree that emulates the real thing. You can still have a tall tree without it taking up a huge chunk of the floor space in your main room, making these slim alternative perfect for smaller homes and apartments where teh available space is at a premium.

Start Thinking About What You Want

While the festive season may still be some months away and you're still basking in the warmth of summer, about now is a good time to start thinking about the type of tree you want to have this year. You may not be contemplating getting the decorations out of storage just yet, but planning where you are going to put the tree and researching sizes, prices, availability and shipping is something that you really ought to be doing sooner rather than later.

It's also a good time to be getting your existing tree out (assuming you already have an aging artificial one) to check whether it is good for another year or it needs replacing. Sometimes a tree may not be worn out but you may feel it's simply time for a change and you want a different look of tree to the one you already have.

Slimming Down Time

One great idea for a change is to get one of the great slimline, realistic artificial trees that are available these days. They come in such a huge range of heights, colors and designs that you are spoiled for choice in that area.

In fact, if your room is a little on the small side and in past years your Christmas tree dominated in every sense of the word, then maybe getting a slim tree is something that is more like something you need to do rather than simply want to do. After all, a slim tree will give you much more space in your room this Christmas, for you to fill up with more gifts, of course!
